Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has always made a point to highlight local businesses. And if you haven’t flown in a few months, you’ll be glad to know that now even more options are now available.
“It’s always great to represent Austin, keep it local,” said Jacob Moreno, store manager at Paradies Lagardere, which operates several of the new shops. “We’re a big supporter of Keep Austin Weird and supporting local businesses. We partner with a lot of local brands.”
Here are five new places to check out at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport:
This third location of Berry Austin, a local treat shop known for delicious fro-yo with Austin flare, opened across from Gate 8 in late June. Don’t miss the shop’s intricate recycled decor, created by Berry Austin owner Kathy Steele.
This popular Austin travel agency/wine bar now has an airport location near Gate 8. Expect its signature modern decor, wide menu and, naturally, expert travel advise.
Ever wish you could have coffee 24-7 when you’re traveling? Now you can. On Tuesday, the app-based coffee kiosk Briggo opened near Gate 8. Order using the app, then arrive at the machine to find your favorite drink waiting for you.
This light, bright airport version of the popular Austin bookstore offers a host of titles without sacrificing its local vibe. It opened last spring.
The Peached Tortilla has long been known in Austin thanks to its unique brand of Asian-Southern fusion. As of May, you can get it, along with JuiceLand and Hippies & Hops, at the airport.
Mad Greens and Hut’s Hamburgers are expected to open by the end of the year.
